Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact Jeff Alexander at (717) 917-1175 or mountjoycemetery@gmail.com for assistance.

Mount Joy Cemetery has been providing services to our community since the 1800's. We are proud to have served several generations of local families during their time of need.

You can ask us for help.  You can use free apps or websites like findagrave.com and BillionGraves.com.  Most of the memorials have already been entered (over 4400) and some contain GPS locations to aid in finding them.  The map at the bottom contains the grid view of the cemetery based upon Blocks.  Within the Blocks are typically 8 Lots, each usually containing 4 graves/plots.  You can use this map if you know the Block(s) and Lot(s) of interest.  The Mount Joy Historical Society, located on Fairview Street, is also a good resource for information on local cemeteries and genealogies.

They are also buried in this cemetery.  Currently two (2) cremains can be included in a single gravesite or plot.  There is no columbarium (structure specifically to house multiple cremains) at the cemetery.

Please contact Jeff with the details, so he can accurately evaluate the plot/deed.
